Getting into debt for success can be a good thing. However, contracting unwarranted debts or not managing your debts properly can hurt you in the long run.
There are a few basic steps you can take to help you manage, decrease, or even completely eliminate your debt:

1.Know how to recognize good debt from bad debt.
A good debt will guarantee long-term value like a house, studies or a business. Bad debt is used to consume worthless goods and services in the long run. In general, we talk about debts related to a credit card or a personal loan. Try to avoid them.

2.Monitor all of your debts carefully.
Know who you owe money to and how much you owe. Pay the debts with the highest interest rate first. If possible, pay your credit card in full each month. Always make at least the minimum payment to avoid additional costs or collection actions.

3.Prepare a monthly budget.

4.Watch for warning signs of financial problems.
These signals include: not having savings, using credit cards for everyday expenses, using one debt to pay another, receiving calls and letters of collection, not seeing a decrease in your debts over or less long term.
